Mercedes-AMG GT R Track Drive & Road Review [Video]

Mercedes-AMG recently unleashed its AMG GT R on track in Portugal and we got a chance to whip the bewinged, track-primed AMG around the Portimao circuit, followed by a stint on the road, to see what it delivers.

What happens when you strip down a Mercedes-AMG GTS, add more downforce and tweak just about every component in the search for extra performance? You get an AMG GT R, that's what!

It's fast, it's loud, but it's not as difficult to drive as you would expect. We sent seasoned motoring scribe Hannes Oosthuizen to Portugal to make a video of the machine affectionately know as "the monster from the Green Hell".

He left CAR in 2013 to experience the \other\" side of the industry
