About Chevrolet
The Chevrolet brand was founded by Louis Chevrolet and William Durant. William Durant was the founder of GM, General Motors, and had hired Louis Chevrolet as a test driver and later wanted to use his car designs for his own models. They later teamed up with Mclaughlin Motor Corporation to use their Buick bodies for their cars. Chevrolet was then bought by GM to become General Motors of Canada. Chevrolet’s influence began to grow in America and by 1963 one in ten cars sold in America was a Chevrolet. Chevrolet is currently owned by GM.
