Freelance writer Charleen Clarke loves cars. Even more than chardonnay - maybe ... In pursuit of her passion, she trawls the world, seeking out the finest bits of metal. In fact, she has come to consider seats on planes as her bed (it must be noted that car seats are considerably more comfortable). This petrolhead began her potholed path in motoring journalism in 1984, working on a newspaper in Port Elizabeth. Since then, she has written about cars for dozens of magazines and newspapers in South Africa. Charleen is also a television presenter, and won a boot load of awards, including South African Motoring Journalist of the Year. She's also the past president of the South African Guild of Motoring Journalists. When she's not driving cars, she indulges her four other passions: photography (often of cars), travel (often to reach cars), wine (never mixed with cars) and - most importantly - laughter (linked to all of the above).
