2021 Toyota GR Yaris

Wow, what a fun little car this is. Small in size, but absolutely massive in personality. It’s
sharp, nimble, and ridiculously entertaining to drive. The kind of car that makes every road
feel like an event. And just look at it. Wide, aggressive, and properly purposeful, like a little
menace that’s always looking for its next challenge.

What makes it even more special is what it represents. When this car launched in 2021, it
arrived with the world’s most powerful production three-cylinder engine. That alone is
enough to turn heads, but this wasn’t built just to chase numbers. Toyota developed it to
meet World Rally Championship homologation requirements, which means this is genuine
rally-bred machine for the road. That’s not marketing fluff, that’s the real deal.

To make things even better, Toyota released these in extremely limited numbers. Between
the GR Yaris and its Rally sibling, only 190 units were allocated to South Africa in that first
batch. And this is one of them, number 112 to be exact. That exclusivity adds a whole

If I were in the market for a hot hatch, this would be right at the top of my list. It’s so much

remaining until 2030, which means low running costs and real peace of mind for years to
come.

It’s also in absolutely beautiful condition. Honestly, it feels more like a near-new car than a

right. It’s raw enough to excite you, refined enough to live with every day, and special
