The 2020 Volkswagen Touareg 3.0 V6 TDI R-Line was Volkswagen’s flagship SUV in South Africa and shared its platform with vehicles such as the Audi Q7 and Porsche Cayenne. It was powered by a 3.0-litre turbo-diesel V6 producing 190 kW and 600 Nm, driving all four wheels through an 8-speed Tiptronic automatic transmission. 0–100 km/h took around 6.5 seconds.
Night Vision Package
The Night Vision system was an optional extra, not standard. It used an infrared camera to detect pedestrians and large animals in darkness and displayed warnings in the digital cockpit. In South Africa, selecting Night Vision also required the Head-Up Display, and could be bundled with additional driver-assistance systems.
