1971 Mercedes-Benz 280S
An elegant example of Mercedes-Benz’s iconic W108, presented in a beautiful combination of Maroon over a Light Brown leather interior.
This particular 280S underwent a restoration more than 10 years ago and has stood the test of time remarkably well. The Maroon paintwork continues to present beautifully, while the chrome remains bright and complements the classic lines of the W108 perfectly.
The interior is equally impressive. The Light Brown leather presents well, while the dashboard is particularly noteworthy, remaining in excellent condition without the lifting and deterioration so commonly seen on Mercedes-Benz models of this era. The wood trim has also aged exceptionally well and adds to the wonderfully period feel of the cabin.
Under the bonnet is the 2.8-litre straight-six paired with twin carburettors, as fitted to the 280S. She starts easily, drives smoothly and delivers exactly the relaxed, refined driving experience one expects from a classic Mercedes-Benz saloon.
The car retains its service books and owner’s manual. While it does not have a complete service history, the documentation that remains is a welcome addition and, together with the overall condition of the car, is testament to an example that has clearly been loved and cared for over the years.
This is not a freshly restored show car, but rather an older restoration that has matured gracefully and continues to present extremely well today.
