2026 Ford Ranger

The revised 2026.5 Ford Ranger XL strengthens Ford South Africa’s workhorse offering by combining improved durability, updated technology and greater versatility for business, fleet and private buyers. As part of the refreshed Ranger line-up, the XL has been repositioned as the core entry-level model, focusing on affordability, practicality and lower operating costs while still benefiting from several major upgrades introduced across the range.
One of the most important updates is the revised 2.0-litre Single Turbo diesel engine, now producing 125 kW and 405 Nm and paired with Ford’s advanced 10-speed automatic transmission on automatic derivatives. Ford has also replaced the previous wet timing belt system with a new timing chain design, aimed at improving long-term durability, reliability and maintenance confidence — a key improvement over the previous specification.
The 2026.5 Ranger XL remains available in Single Cab, Super Cab and Double Cab body styles, with customers able to choose between manual or automatic transmissions as well as 4x2 and 4x4 drivetrains depending on operational requirements. Compared to the outgoing model, the revised XL benefits from enhanced refinement, smoother gear shifts and improved towing performance thanks to the upgraded drivetrain package.
