The new Renault Clio range

Renault have updated the popular Clio range in South Africa for 2012, the new range focuses on being great value for money. The focus is still on young customers and the cars are still trendy and sophisticated. However, the big push for the new Clio range is on connectivity. The new Clio range features a standard Parrot Bluetooth system, with the top spec model; the 1.6 Avantage featuring the latest TomTom Live integrated nav system. This system comes with Live services which include: Google Local Search, real-time HD traffic and weather updates. The interactive and connected theme continues on the entry level Yahoo! Model which features an MP3 Radio/CD player with RCA aux audio jack. Powering the entire new Renault Clio lineup is a 1.6 litre 16-valve engine. It produces 83 kW of power at 6 000rpm and has a max torque of 151 Nm at 4 250 rpm. The Clio is able to complete 0-100km/h in 10.2 seconds before topping off at 190km/h. Efficiency has not been forgotten either, the combined fuel consumption clocks in at 6.7 litres/100km and has a CO2 rating of 157 g/km. The Clio Yahoo! Is the entry level model but still comes with aircon, cruise control and many other features. The Yahoo! Plus comes with multi-spoke 15 inch alloy wheels, front fog lights and roof spoiler. There is also leather trim on the seats and steering wheel. The top of the range Avantage model comes with automatic rain and light sensors, full climate control, the TomTom Live navigation system, 15 cm colour screen and 80W audio system. On the outside the Avantage has 16 inch alloy wheels and aluminum door handles. The transmission is a 5-speed manual on the Clio Yahoo!, Clio Yahoo! Plus and Clio Avantage, with an additional Avantage model available with a 4-speed automatic. Pricing for the new Renault Clio range is as follows: Clio 1.6 Yahoo! R159 900 Clio 1.6 Yahoo!
