The Porsche 911 is one of the oldest sports coupe nameplates still in production and was developed as a much more powerful, larger and more comfortable replacement for the company’s first model, the Porsche 356.
The company will celebrate its success of the iconic 911 at the Frankfurt Motor Show with the special edition Porsche 911 50.
Porsche 911 50 – FeaturesThe Porsche 911 50 is based on the 911 Carrera S but features a wider body and like the original back in 1963, the 911 50th Anniversary Edition is a coupe with a flat-six rear engine. The engine develops 294 kW and can sprint from zero to 100 km/h in 4.3 seconds before reaching a top speed of 300 km/h. The car’s NEDC combined fuel consumption is 9.5 l/100 km, which equates to CO2 emissions of 224 g/km.
The limited edition Porsche 911 50 is equipped with features that have contributed to the success story of the company’s icon such as the specially tuned Porsche Active Suspension Management, the sport exhaust system and special 20-inch wheels which are a visual tribute to the legendary ‘Fuchs’ wheels. They are finished in matte black paint with polished centres.
Other exterior features include chrome trim strips on the front air inlets, while the fins of the engine compartment grille and the panel between the rear lights emphasize the distinctive appearance of the model. Finishing off the sporty yet elegant design is the Porsche Dynamic Light System with bi-xenon headlights and dynamic cornering lights, as well as the high-gloss window frames and sport design exterior mirrors.
The interior features ‘911 50’ decals on the rear lid in a two-tone 3D effect, and are repeated in three-colour embroidery on the headrests and as a bicolour logo on the tachometer and the aluminium door sill plates. In addition, the interior is also finished with green labelling on the instruments coupled with white pointer needles and silver caps on the instrument pivot pins. Special attention is drawn to the centre panels of the leather seats, featuring a fabric pattern reminiscent of the 'Pepita' tartan design from the 1960s.
The standard sports seats feature 14-way electrical adjustment, while 18-way-adjustable items seats are offered as an optional extra. The gear shift or selector lever comes from the Porsche Exclusive program and matches the decorative panels on the dashboard, doors and centre console in brushed aluminium.
The anniversary Porsche 911 50 is available in two unique colours; a dark Graphite Grey, a light Geyser Grey metallic and an optional black monochrome.
