The 4-door version of BMW's 8 Series has been leaked early and we get a closer look at the new Gran Coupe.
The BMW 8 Series is available in coupe and convertible versions, with an assortment of engines to choose from. The range is set to expand with the addition of a 4-door Gran Coupe version, which you see here in some leaked images.
The addition of 2 doors means more cabin space, which will be appreciated for rear passengers it can't be easy getting into the rear in the current 2-door setup.
In terms of engines, we're expecting the same powertrains as those found in the coupe and convertible versions. There'll be the M850i with its 4.4-litre twin-turbocharged V8 producing 390 kW and 750 Nm, an 840d diesel engine which isn't available locally, but does produce 235 kW and 680 Nm. It remains to be seen if the recently announced M8 powertrain will make its way into the BMW 8 Gran Coupe.
The BMW 8 Gran Coupe is due to be officially revealed in the next week or so, so stay tuned.
