Volkswagen UP 5-door set for production

The Volkswagen UP  5-door has just been confirmed for production. Good news is that the 5-door version is only slightly more expensive than the current 2-door version; the price has been kept in check. The new Volkswagen UP will be hitting European dealerships throughout the course of the year.

Volkswagen UP 5-door may be more popular

VW are predicting that over half of people who purchase the new UP will favour the 4-door version as it maintains many of the specifications that come on the 2 door model. The 4-door model, as you would expect, comes with a different side profile as well as a bootlid whose outer skin is made up of a continuous glass surface. The boot has a 251 litre cargo capacity which can be extended to 951 litres by folding the rear backrests down.

The Volkswagen UP 4-door version will also come with the same impressive spacious interior that the 2-door has. The rear seats also have a higher seating position which gives the rear passengers a better view over the shoulders of the driver and front passenger. Legroom and headroom has also been maintained and should be more than adequate for the size of the car.

As any additional information becomes available on the Volkswagen UP, we will let you know.
