Its the 35th anniversary of the Volkswagen Golf GTI and to celebrate, VW have created a special edition to honour this classic vehicle. Volkswagen practically invented the sports hatch in 1976 and have a long history of quality which the Edition35 will surely continue.
Volkswagen Golf GTI Edition 35 gets more power and style
The Volkswagen Golf GTI Edition 35 comes with a number of features to separate it from the current Golf GTI. The front bumper has been upgraded and given a new design as well as the wheels which have received the special edition treatment. The performance in the Edition 35 has also been upgraded, gaining an extra 25 hp compared to the current Golf GTI, topping off at 235 hp. Perhaps the most significant and unique feature of the Edition 35 is the text 35 which will appear on the fender, on the door sills, the head restraints as well as the centre of the seats.
There is no word yet on a South African release of this special edition but the Volkswagen Golf GTI Edition 35 goes on sale in Germany in mid June, with base price of 30 425 Euros.
