Fuel Price Plunge for February 2015

The Department of Energy has announced yet another fuel price cut, effective as of Wednesday, 4th February 2015. A major contributing factor to the decrease is the continued drop in the price of crude oil which has led to decreases in international markets. The depreciating Rand against the US Dollar has however led to an increase of about 4c per litre in the contribution to the Basic Fuel Price (BFP), which was offset by the drop in price of crude oil during the period under review.

Fuel Price Cuts for February 2015

The following fuel price cuts will take effect as of 4th February 2015.

  • Petrol down by 93 cents/litre.
  • Diesel down by 102 cents/litre.
  • Illuminating Paraffin down by 136 cents/litre.
  • Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) down by 150 cents/kilogram.

The decrease in the fuel price is good news for motorists but we urge you to practice fuel efficient driving techniques to maximise your savings.
