About SsangYong
SSangyong began as 2 separate companies that eventually merged in 1963 to become Ha Dong-hwan Motor Co. And in 1964 the company began producing military vehicles for the U.S. Army. The company was then taken over by SSangyong Business Group in 1988 and the company became SsangYong Motor. Daewoo Motors bought a controlling stake in SsangYong in 1997 but then later sold it in 2000. The company is currently owned by SAIC who owns a 51% stake in the company.
Ssangyong cars are slowly finding their way into the South African used car market and can be found on Cars.co.za. Popular models include the used Ssangyong Kyron, used Ssangyong Rexton and used Ssangyong Actyon.
