Mazda was founded in Japan in 1920 as the Toyo Cork Cogyo and was a manufacturer of machine tools. The company later produced its first vehicle, the Mazda-Go in 1931. In 1984 the company changed its name to Mazda, even though all the vehicles they had produced until that time were already called Mazda. Mazda later expanded into the American market and was very successful there. Later Ford began a partnership with Mazda and they produced many join-venture vehicles. These days Mazda vehicles are sold and enjoyed the world over.
