About Maserati

Maserati company logo

Maserati was started by 5 Maserati brothers; Alfieri, Bindo, Carlo, Ettore and Ernesto. The first Maserati car 1926 and the company marque was established. Maserati then focused on motor racing and built racing cars. The company was then bought by the Adolfo Orsi family who relocated the company to Modena in 1940. In 1968 Maserati was bought by Citroen and many new models were developed. In 1974 Alessandro de Tomaso took over the company until 1993 when Fiat acquired Mazerati. However in 1997 Fiat sold half of the company shares to Ferrari until later in 2005 where Maserati split from Ferrari and merged with Alfa Romeo.

Mazerati has a classic history of motor racing and sports cars that has extended into its consumer range of vehicles. These cars are the height of luxury, speed and elegance and can now be found on Cars.co.za.
