About Jaguar
Jaguar was founded in 1922 by Sir William Lyons and William Walmsley and was initially called The Swallows Sidecar Company. The company was later renamed to Jaguar in 1944. Jaguar had some success in motorsport and gained popularity in the 1950’s with a range of sports cars. Later Jaguar merged with the British Motor Corporation (BMC) and was involved in a number of other merges until they were owned by British Leyland ltd. The company was then taken over by Ford and more recently by Tata Motors. Today Jaguar produces luxury vehicles throughout the world.
