About Isuzu
Isuzu was founded in Japan in 1916 as the Tokyo Ishikawajima Shipbuilding and Engineering Co. They combined with the Tokyo Gas and Electric Industrial Co. to build automobiles. In 1920 their first truck is produced, the CP truck. In 1934 the truck is renamed to the Isuzu, which is the name of a river. In 1949 the company adopts the name Isuzu. Later Isuzu partners up with General Motors and in 2005 Isuzu becomes the world’s largest manufacturer of medium to heavy duty trucks.
