About Daewoo
Daewoo was established as National Motor in 1937 in South Korea. The name was later changed to Saenara Motor in 1962. The company was later bought by Shinjin Industrial in 1965 and the company name became Shinjin Motor. The company’s range of vehicles included many Toyota models until Toyota withdrew from the company in 1972. The company later became involved with General Motors and incorporated many GM models. The Daewoo Group then gained control of the company in 1982 and the name became Daewoo Motor Co. In 2001 General Motors bought a majority share in Daewoo Motors and the company became GM Daewoo and continues to produce vehicles worldwide.
