The Toyota 86 CS-V3 Race Car

Toyota Motorsport GmbH (TMG) has launched the cost-effective TMG GT86 CS-V3 race car. The TMG GT86 CS-V3 has been refined and packaged as an entry-level race car for easy maintenance, low running costs and great fun.

The TMG GT86 CS-V3 has been specifically developed for the V3 class of Nürburgring-based VLN series and features a stiffened chassis, optimised weight distribution for racing as well as a racing exhaust, suspension and brakes.

TMG President, Yoshiaki Kinoshita said “The Toyota GT86 is a perfect car for production-based motorsport. It already looks fantastic and has superb handling, so with further performance and safety upgrades we have created a really exciting and competitive car which is extremely cost effective.”

The Toyota 86 was recently launched in South Africa and is offered in three models namely the 86 Standard 6-speed manual, the 86 High 6-speed manual and the 86 High 6-speed automatic. The Toyota 86 is powered by a naturally aspirated 2.0-litre Subaru engine that produces 147kW at 7 000rpm with a maximum torque figure of 205Nm. The Toyota 86 will accomplish 0-100km/h in 7.6 seconds and reach a top speed of 226km/h. Fuel consumption is rated at 7.8 litres/100km for the manual variant, while the automatic achieves 7.1-litres/100km.
